Bruce Shepherd, 83, of Rainbow Trail, Waverly, Ohio, died 2:55 a.m. Sunday, 15 December 2013 at his home.
He was born 30 January 1930 in Portsmouth, Ohio the son of the late Clabe Shepherd and Alabam (Howard) Shepherd. On 25 July 1951 he was united in marriage to Frances Elizabeth (Otworth) Shepherd, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Joy (Shepherd) Knauff and husband Richard of Waverly, three grandchildren, Haley, Lane and Bruce Knauff, three sisters, Freda Daniels and husband John of Waverly, Jeanette Gunnoe of Chillicothe, Ohio, Bronna Holbrook and husband Homer of Granville, Ohio.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Moad and Marvin Shepherd and two sisters, Dorothy Harness and Girtrue Williams.
He was a retired Farmer, a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Ohio Operating Engineers and a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the U.S. Army.
Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday 19 December 2013 at the BOYER FUNERAL HOME in Waverly with Elder John Daniels, officiating. Burial will follow in Gardner Cemetery, Waverly, Ohio with military graveside services by American Legion Merritt post #142, Waverly.
Friends may call at the Boyer Funeral Home 4 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour on Thursday.
