Gussie William Ison Gussie William Ison, 92, of Van Fosson Road, Beaver, Ohio, died 11:55 p.m. Sunday, November 3, 2013 at the V.A. Medical Center, Chillicothe, Ohio. He was born January 15, 1921 in Isonville, Kentucky, son of the late Owen Damon Ison and Tora Emily (Daniels) Ison. On July 7, 1945 Gussie was united in marriage to Aileen (Ferguson) Ison who survives. Surviving are two sons, Ronald W. Ison and wife Jamie of Beaver, Ohio, Philip F. Ison and wife Doina of Virginia Beach, Virginia, two daughters, Alvita E. Roberts and husband Gary of Beaver, Ohio, Brenda K. (Smith) Ison of Chillicothe, Ohio 15 grandchildren, Randall, Ronald, Jr., Brandon, Ian, Seth, Ryan, Brooke, Blake, Leslie, Joshua, Akira, Raisa, Nathaniel, Vanessa and Alicia, 9 Great-Grandsons, 15 Great-Granddaughters, one great-great-granddaughter, one great-great-great-granddaughter, brother, Damon Ison and wife Ruby of Wilmington, Ohio, two sisters, Goldie Fannin of Wheelersburg, Ohio and Christine Herald of Oak Hill, Ohio. His parents, sister, Alice Hopper and Great-Granddaughter, Hannah Smith preceded him in death. He was retired from the Painters Union Local #555, Portsmouth, Ohio, Veteran of the U.S. Army having served in WWII, Purple Heart Recipient, P.O.W., Life member of D.A.V. Jackson Commander Club #45, and a member of the Baptist Faith. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 8, 2013 at the BOYER FUNERAL HOME in Waverly, Ohio with Rev. Major Montgomery, officiating. Burial will follow in Beaver Union Cemetery with graveside Military Services by the American Legion Merritt Post #142, Waverly, Ohio.
